MARTA GIARRETTA

Marta was born and, despite spending her early summers by the sea from the age of three, she soon discovered the world of alpine skiing. Her competitive journey began with the Falconeri Ski Team (formerly Tezenis), and after her first successes, she moved at the age of 14 to the Caterina Von Medici Winter Sports School in Malles. There, with dedication and sacrifice, she overcame the challenges of learning German, being far from home, and adapting to a new life governed by strict rules and routines.

Now an adult, Marta balances races, school, and training, both on the slopes and off. While she is passionate about skiing and sports, she also loves spending time with her friends, family, and her two cats—although she doesn’t see them often. Cheerful and always ready to smile, she is very demanding of herself, striving for excellence not only in sports but in everything she does. She believes deeply in friendship and respect, even toward her rivals, who often become trusted friends.

Her childhood dreams—joining the regional committee, wearing the national team jersey, and representing Italy in the World Cup—have already translated into major achievements: Italian slalom champion, second place in giant slalom at the 2024 Italian Championships, entry into the Trentino Committee, selection for the Fiamme Gialle Ski Team and as a national team prospect. She also won three silver medals (slalom, giant slalom, and parallel) at the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Georgia, claimed victory in the GPI circuit, and earned the title of runner-up in the giant slalom in the “aspiranti” category (awaiting results for slalom).

For Marta, continuing to enjoy skiing and finding new motivation to overcome obstacles—whether it’s being far from home or facing moments of struggle—is essential. Key to this journey are her schoolmates, the friendships formed while waiting for a race or during training camps, her family, her coaches, and everyone who supports her—along with her sponsors (including Gabel)—in pursuing her dream.
