Luca Mattarucco

“His motto: ‘What is life without sport?’

Luca Mattarucco has been skiing since childhood. He was three years old when he tackled his first descents at Bellocchio di Asiago (VI). On the other hand, it couldn’t have been otherwise, with a mother from the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni and a father from Dobbiaco (BZ), in Val Pusteria.

At the age of thirteen, he joined the Bassanesi Ski Club, starting a competitive journey that later led him to compete in numerous races in the Italian Cup. After completing his school path, he became part of the Alpine Training School of the State Police.

In 1986, he obtained the qualification of Ski Master, continuing his career at the Ski School in Madonna di Campiglio (Tn) and Les Deux Alpes in France, where he collaborated with Flavio Roda, now President of FISI and a historic coach of the Italian National Team and Alberto Tomba.

His passion for Nordic disciplines over the years led him to practice and teach Telemark, the unique alpine specialty that revives the ancient technique of Norwegian skiing. In 1994, he obtained the qualification of Snowboard Master. Always attentive to new trends, in 2005, he became a Nordic Walking Instructor and, in 2014, an FIDAL Nordic Walking Instructor.

He has been alongside Gabel for many years as a technician and tester, and as a supporter during sports events, fairs, and demos in Italy and abroad.”
