Lukas Wörle

Lukas Wörle hails from Wängle in Tyrol and is a passionate mountaineer, climber, and paraglider. His love for the mountains stems from his parents and the beautiful surroundings in which he was raised.

“I grew up in the mountains, and my father being a mountain guide, the transition to mountain sports was natural. Even as a young child, my family and I spent a lot of time skiing, climbing, and hiking,” Lukas recalls. Additionally, Lukas always admired his father’s photos of high mountains from around the world. Eventually, this sparked his own desire to climb the world’s highest peaks.

His interest in paragliding was sparked by one of his steadfast mountain companions who accompanied him on many expeditions. According to Lukas, the beauty of his sport lies in the fact that he can combine two of his greatest passions: paragliding and mountaineering. This has allowed him to visit many unforgettable places and have unique experiences.

In 2023, during a rescue operation, Lukas managed to save the life of a Pakistani high-altitude porter shortly after he had crossed the 8000-meter mark. The porter survived, Lukas himself took off with his paraglider from 7000 meters to partly fulfil one of his biggest dreams.

Looking ahead to 2024, amidst smaller projects, Lukas is set to return to Pakistan, aiming to fulfill his dream of both climbing and paragliding from an 8000-meter peak
